English 10: Students took major tests on Friday and they will be returned on Monday. This week we will be reading "The Devil and Tom Walker" by Washington Irving. This is a great selection that will get students in the right frame of mind for Halloween!
World History: This week we will be learning about "Planned Cities on the Indus" and "River Dynasties in China". We will review Chapter 2 on Wednesday and there is a test planned for Thursday. On Friday we will be discussing the Presidential campaign and the news related to that.

Week of 9/22
Accounting: In accounting this week, our class took a test on Chapter one. We have just started Chapter Two and are learning about t-accounts. We will be starting to play "The Stock Market Game" soon to give the students some real-world experience.
English 12: Our class just finished reading the epic poem "Beowulf". Friday is movie day and we will be watching a film version of the poem. On Monday we will be reviewing and there will be a MAJOR test on Tuesday.
English 10: We just finished reading a selection from "The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin" and an excerpt from "Poor Richard's Almanack". On Friday (9.26) students will be tested on these two selections. Students who did not take the summer reading exam on "Fahrenheit 451" will also be taking that test tomorrow.
World History: We are in the middle of Chapter Two and have been learning about the ancient Sumerians and the Ancient Egyptians. For the remainder of the week, students will be reviewing and watching a DVD on ancient Egypt and how the pyramids were created. They are also learning about mummies and other aspects of Egyptian culture. Look for a test on this material sometime next week.
