Mary Warren if forced by John Proctor to go to the court to tell them that Abigail and all the other girls are lying. After listening to the text being read in class, and after seeing the excerpt from the film, what did you notice about the change in the way John Proctor is treating Mary Warren? Or, to rephrase the question..............When we see Mary Warren at the Proctor's and when we see her at the courthouse, she is being treated much differently. How?

At the Proctor's house, John treated Mary like a servant and he threatened her to make her to say the truth at the court. But at teh court he was nice to Mary Warren.
In the proctors house he trated her like dirt and in the court house he trats her like the same as his wife...with respect.
When Mary Warren is in the Proctor's house she is treated badly. She gets punished, whipped, and punched a lot but, when she is at the court house she is not. She is treated nicely.

John treated Mary as if she were lower than dirt, when they were at Proctor's house. However, when they were at the court, John actually treated Mary with respect.

At the Proctor's house they treated her with disrespect and beat her but at the court house they treat her nicely.
Mary Warren gets treated two opposite ways when by the proctors house and when in court. When Marry Warren is at the proctors house she gets treated terribly. Mr. Proctor shoves her anround and smacks her, but this is far more worse then the wa he treats her in court. In court he runs to Mary Warren. He patted her face dry after she was in the rain so she wuld not be uncomfortable and drenched. He would never do this at his house. Mr. Protctor puts his arm around her in the court, but if it was at home he wuld be throwing her. This is the huge difference between the two places.
At the Proctor's house John threatened Mary and was treating her very mean and cruelly, he smacked her around and treated her as if she must obey him and he didn't allow her to have her own say in anything. But then at the courthouse he treated her as if she was his own daughter. He gave her respect and wanted her to feel comfortable; he even patted her dry after she came inside from being outside in the rain.
John Proctor was very mean and treated Mary Warren cruelly at his house. He threatened her and smacked her around like she was nothing but a servant to him. However, at the court he acted like Mary Warren was part of his family treating her like she was his daughter or something. John just wanted his wife back and is trying to use Mary Warren to do so.
At the courthouse, Mr. John Proctor treats Mary Warren like she is his duaghter. He respects her. At the house Proctor is mean to her and isn't afraid to strike her. He treats Mary Warren much better in the courthouse than in the household.

When Marrys at Procters house she is treated horrible. When Marry is not at Procters house shes treated with respect.
Hello, this is Minkyung Kim.
In house, John treated Mary with not that nice manner. He threatened her and even hit her. But, in court he treated her with very fine manner. because he didn't want to seem threaten Mary.
Great job everyone!
You are all correct!
At the Proctor's farm, John treated Mary Warren like a slave. He was physically and verbally abusive to her. He forced her to go to the court and tell on her friends.
We see a softer side of John at the courthouse. He wipes Mary's tears and puts his arm around her shoulders for support.
We can learn a lot about John Proctor's personality from this. He can run hot and cold. He can be brutal yet tender.
Great job getting the homework in to all those who did it.
Any homework that is done on time receives a homework grade of 100. Any homework that is not done on time gets a grade of 0. It may not seem like a big deal now, but when you have 3 or 4 zeros for one marking period, they really bring down your grade. The first marking period ends in two weeks!
